Goodbye Cocotte...

Alas... even the most beautiful love stories have an end... that of Cocotte and François will soon finish...

Luckily, the donkey told the little boy some anecdotes about his life up there, on the pasture...

And everything is recorded: the joyous arrivals in the cabin... the crazy laughs like the day Julien's hat flew so high that it was believed forever lost in the clouds! Hard days when the rain didn't end... Sleepless nights because a sheep struggled to lay down... And the nostalgia of departures when we went down the plain...

Mushroom hunting!

November... Where are the mushrooms lovers?
 
Poor pissacan and snare picking... The period of the orongs and bolets once called « Negro head »- I don't know the new name – had passed. These are my favorite mushrooms. Too bad.
 
I was gone to look for delicious lactaries and girolls but I had to fall back on snakes and pissacans. I do not know the French name of this modest fungus of the Cep family. He can be eaten provided he is picked in his early childhood.
 
I had the water returned, then married my mushrooms with Morteau sausage slices, a clove of garlic and a pinch of pepper so that the whole was about to eat!
 

Family harvest

At Puget-sur-Argens in the 1960s... un few childhood memories of Claude Boyer.
 
He remembers the harvest with his mother, his grandmother, Papillon the horse, and Jacky, an endearing character. History evokes the days in the vineyard, the small joys and the discoveries of childhood in a Puget much different from today's.

This photo of the berger Martine Baron dates from 2019. We like it very much, at the foot of the village of Bargeme, surrounded by her sheep. On that day, she left in transhumance. But by the way, how do we say transhumance in Provençal? In the article you will find a short story and a beautiful map of the transhumance of 1975 in only eight days, from the sea to Mont Mounier (Alpes Maritimes, in the heart of Mercantour, not far from Valberg ski resort).

This is the only recent photo of the book « Women of Provence » (He goes out on Saturday 25/11). The 100,000 photographs of André Abbe are photographic archives dating from 1970 to 2000. Sometimes we make exceptions, this is the case here.

87,000 photos left to digitize. How many nuggets will we find out? My hypothesis: 1% of André Abbe's photos are treasures. This means that we still have 870 treasures to discover! The book, for its part, is a means of financing this enterprise.
