Description

Provence is so many stereotypes and ideas received. This picture is different. It immortalizes scenes from the life of the Provencal village of Roquebrune on Argens in 1979. A difference in size: this photo is taken from inside, on the alive. The inhabitants of Roquebrune on Argens might have refused to be photographed. André Abbe is different, André is one of theirs, born in the village, from an old family of farmers.

This collection is part of the book « Roquebrune in images« . It is the gaze of a photographer journalist who has travelled the world without ever long leaving his native village.
The photographer's eye, the journalist's pen, the stories of a native of Roquebrune-sur-Argens (Var).

Opinions on the products of the association Abbe Photo

A wealth... memory... A story in common, the love of this village and the soul of the missing people... An immense emotion for me..

Sabine A.

I didn't know Roquebrune. It made me want to discover the surrounding area and its rock. But beyond a place, I have retraversed an era: the intergenerational mixtures of the past, the fires of Saint John and the village festivals and their tanks...

Clement C.

Every photo, every text reprojects me when I accompanied my parents and grandparents in all the field work (especially the harvest). It's a hymn to the "real", with deep roots. Delicious Proust madeleines, that do good.

Giselle P.L.

They speak of the book Roquebrune in images !

This is the memory of our region.

Eric C.

Friendly and moving tour season after season, of which we really do not get tired.

Frédérique M.

Under the sun of Provence, a small village between the Mediterranean and Argens. To remember.

Jean-Pierre V.
