Two wheels!

Our first « two wheels » ? Probably a patina!

We say it. « born » 100 years ago. Originally, it is a toy that is found in bourgeois families; It will gradually democratize, modernise, but remain used by children.

In the passing years, she has an electric motor. 1996, Wim Ouboter (Switzerland) designs an aluminium folding model. Today it is equipped with brakes, mirrors, front and rear lights.

In town, it is allowed on cycle paths and therefore prohibited on sidewalks. Its speed is limited to 25 hm/h and users must be over 12 years old, wearing helmet, vest or reflective armband.

Thanks to her, the « skaters » cities avoid car congestion, saving valuable time and reducing urban pollution. If she remains a toy, it's the businessman's!...

The devil sent the electric scooter to earth!
On a sidewalk, one of them recently doubled. The right shoulder of his driver hit my left shoulder, without hurting me. Oh...
I heard on TV that a scooter driver had been flashed at 80 km an hour!

The modest Vespa of my childhood wasn't supposed to run so fast. It was not dangerous for pedestrians because it was not driving on sidewalks. But it was for those who were driving because most were not wearing helmets.
In Provencal and Italian, the vespa is the wasp. What's the name for the electric scooter?

Damn it! The Devil? I'm thinking about human foolishness, at least it's not in doubt about its existence...
Passadoc is not a page whose vocation is polemics and names of birds, so I prefer to keep for myself the one I would give to these devices and the qualifier that I would attribute to their users...

Jeanne Monin
When they appeared in the cities, they did my joy not for the gear itself but because they were mainly led by men in the 30s of age, – good-cut city costume, clear shirt, tie, well waxed acorn moccasins, rigid shoulder-band document holders – stiff as fence stakes and serious as administration attachments!
They seemed a bit ridiculous...

Bad spirit than mine! They didn't give in to fashion, we read today; Those I considered to be great children – probably frustrated not to have had this toy in their youth – were in fact responsible adults fighting global warming and air pollution!

    Cucuron
    Quiz!
    A village... a resident...
    A few more weeks...

Cucuron

Cucuron according to the standard and Cucuroun according to the Mistral standard.
Local tradition affirms that the name of the village is due to Julius Caesar! Seeing locals running, he would have cried:
Currunt ? (Why are they running?)
In fact, the toponym is common in southern France, with the sense of « highest point », « mound » :
Coucouron (Ardèche), Cucugon (Haute Garonne), Cuqueron (Pyrénées orientales).
Cucuron (Vaucluse) has 1,814 gentiles; altitude between 235 and 1035.

André Abbe
This man was Jean Ferréol, born in Cucuron in 1808, a child of the country who became a priest of the Foreign Missions of Paris.
He went on a mission to Korea, became a bishop and converted many Koreans to Catholicism. He died in 1853, somewhere in Asia.

Several times a year, Korean Christians come on pilgrimage to the native village of Jean Ferréol. South Koreans, I specify.

A village... a resident...

Thanks to the scanning of my slides, I find countries where I have never returned. I haven't been through Montblanc in over 40 years.

Curiosity: between the entrance sign and the exit sign of the village lived only Monsieur le Maire, shepherd, and his wife!

I found Montblanc on the Internet but it is not about its population. It is written « We love Provence » That's news!

« We love Provence »...
I never went to Montblanc, but when I go to Nice, I pass Quai Roba Capeu and I see this horror* « I love Nice« He's coming to me, not to say the stofia. Can you imagine a similar monument? « I love London » Trafalgar Square?

A few more weeks...

A few more weeks and the sheets, the shirts will no longer dry in the garden... We will spread under the meadow or in the shed; unless some dryer is used.
The wind will play somewhere else... With the autan, the tramontane and the chubby aquilon*, he will take a vacation; unless he goes to visit stupid countries* Where it never rains!

And then, no longer holding, one morning of sun, he will return to Provence... Opening their shutters, Vincent, François, Paul, Claude, Maryse, André ... and the others!... will say:

Here! The mistral will blow today...

* Thank you Mr Brassens!

I have dedicated my time to contemplate the heavensWatching the nudes passWatching the stratus, snorting the nimbusMake the eyes soft to the least cumulus

Her husband had done so much business. So much sold that night little bits of ironThat he had become a millionaireAnd it had taken him to always blue skiesIdiot countries where it never rainsWhere we don't know anything about thunder

Are we listening?
