1978... in a picturesque Provence market, just like those found almost everywhere! This one is in Saint-Aygulf, in the Var (between Cannes and Saint-Tropez).

And the bearers invade the lawn!
I was present at the Nice-Béziers final (if not I could not have taken this picture). In fact, the Niçois were smoked. Nice had a reputation for getting to sleep. Also the supporters of Béziers invaded the terrain 10 minutes before the end. The referee didn't do his job. Beziers won!

2023 For the second time, France is organizing the Rugby World Cup. Unfortunately, the great adventure ended: the French team is no longer in competition after the incredible match yesterday. But the show is not over! There are still some nice encounters before the final. I didn't finish vibrating and applause!

Tribute to Robert Lafont. Poet, novelist, theatre writer, linguist. Born in 1923 in Nîmes (Gard), he was the father of the Occitanist movement in the immediate post-war period. He left us in 2009 but his work will not be forgotten. His publications deserve to be reread on the occasion of this centenary. André took this photo on the occasion of the Occitane University in Summer 1983.
Ball Lyonnaise or Petanque?
Playground: the petanque is played on any field, while the Boule Lyonnaise has a specialized rectangular field.
Balls: petanque balls are smaller and lighter in contrast to « Lyon balls » are larger and heavier.
Strategy: the pétanque focuses on precision and placement, while the Boule Lyonnaise incorporates a multitude of techniques and angles.
Score: The petanque marks according to the proximity of the pig, while the Boule Lyonnaise uses a system of points with different zones.
Team size: The pétanque usually has teams of 2 or 3, while the teams of the Boule Lyonnaise are composed of 3 or 4 players.

« to the framework » or « petanque » ... as no visible frame is marked on the ground (for the sides sometimes with a tensioned wire or, at least, by lines dug with the « 50 ») could be the pétanque, especially as the ball seems close to the cap, itself hardly far from the player, but as the player who just sent (his ball) moves (a step to point, three to shoot), it seems to me that it would rather be the « long » (My father's Glory)

The concern is that between the petanque (the tacked feet) and the Lyonnaise with larger balls (from 90 to 110 mm in diameter), there is the Provençal Game which is a declination in the South of France of this Lyon practice, moreover with smaller balls (from 70.5 to 80 mm)!
It is by this practice with wooden balls coated with round nails that everything started and more in Provence, as its name indicates!
And that's why we sometimes call him « The Long One » Hey!

The truffles
Je dois préciser : j’ai « cavé » ces truffes chez des amis, pas n’importe où. Sur la photo ce sont des truffes blanches (tuber aestivum) qui ont beaucoup moins de valeur que les noires, (tuber melanosporum).
Recherches sur plusieurs sites : les prix peuvent fluctuer en fonction de la période de l’année, de l’offre globale du marché et de leur provenance :
[Elles ont un tout autre aspect que les truffes de la bastide].

Je sais que le rugby n’intéresse (presque) personne parmi les passadociens, pourtant je vais écrire quelques mots sur la défaite de la France contre l’Afrique du Sud 28 à 29. Histoire de me « défuguer », je ne connais pas l’équivalent en français, « de me débarrasser d’une contrariété ».
