The bouillabaisse...
The Gazette last week (No 120) evoked the grimoires and spells of... And today, what do we read when we look for the origin of the bouillabaisse? That she would come from ancient Greece and have had virtues... magic !
We should not give here a recipe for bouillabaisse: although we like to receive messages (romenzo2010@gmail.com), it would probably be a mountain of mail because every family, every cook, every restaurant chef, inn or gargot holds the list of ingredients considered absolutely essential... or totally superfluous!
– Crustaceans in the bouillabaisse? Have you lost your mind?
- White wine? Hurry up with four dallebore grains! And how about a little slender croutons while you're there!
We found some!
Let's say at the base, it's a soup – we also read stew – made up of fish « noble » or damaged in nets, or sold on the wharf; the fishermen cooked them all together in a large pot; It was consumed on the boat or as a family. Actually, it was the poor people's meal.
Whatever the coasts – Peruvian, Canadian, Irish, etc. – there are fish soup recipes everywhere.
- In Greece it is called kakavia (kakavi → brass pot tripode).
- On our west coasts, Luzian fishermen eat the ttoro (pronounced) tito → concert of pots).
- Higher, the Bretons name it cotriad (from Breton) kaoteriad → content of a pot).
But it is only in Marseille that the Famous bouillabaisse of the internationally renowned (Provencal) bouiabaisso → Boil and lower!

To make a good bouillabaisse
We have to get up early in the morning.
Prepare the pastis and constantly
Telling jokes with hands
The brave take their cane
And go fishing it themselves
But the fish passes and laughs
There's more to buy at the market
Ah! that it's good the bouillabaisse
Ah! God, that's good!

I've got the memory...
I don't know if I took this picture from my village of Roquebrune in the '70s, '80s or '90s. In any case, the place had changed little since the 1950s when I was a child.
In place of the greenery of the foreground, there is today a large parking lot, mostly full.
The game seems lost.
Every year the number of parking places around the village is increased, but it is still difficult to find one, especially in the summer.

I've never seen this place before as a parking lot. Undoubtedly created for a need, the church had been created to meet a need of the time also ....
Marie-Odile Beraud
In Puget, we build everything; But very little parking... which leads to other problems.
Pierre Dac said « The future is only from the past in preparation« ... What will our grandchildren say in 50 years' time when we see our past present?...
Jeanne Monin
We all have a little nostalgia when we look at the past... Passadoc's purpose!
Ah... the beautiful images of the bugadières on the edge of the river... those of the oxen pulling the plough of autumn tillage guided by a peasant, cap screwed on the head and hands nude...
Little emotion...
- 1900: 40 million French... A fleet of 1,600 vehicles!
- 1950: 42 million souls ... and 2 million cars.
- 2022: 66 million (after INSEE) and more than 45 million cars...
Malaise in Cannes
Where was this picture taken? On the west coast of the United States?
No... in the very English-speaking city of Cannes during the Film Festivals.
It will be held this year from 16 to 27 May. Jeanne du Barry will be mentioned in the American film which will have the honour, out of competition, to open the festival.
Poor Barry's lady who was guillotined just 230 years ago.
She will speak English in the movie... It won't surprise anyone in Cannes.
See you later.

This « invasion » Many comments on Passadoc.fr are based on English! Here are some of them:

Why this poster in English?... I cannot help but see red in front of the vampirization of our language by English. I have nothing against Shakespeare's language or those who speak it, but we are in Molière's land, Voltaire and Hugo, so let us speak their language..
François Abbe
I think we're at a turning point. Real time machine translation is a reality. Deepl is a crazy tool for translations. Soon multilingual should be everywhere...
Jeanne Monin
And during that time – everywhere on French lands! – a lot of hard work is being done to preserve regional languages, music and traditions.
Maybe those who were watching « Apostrophes » – a program dedicated to reading, animated by Bernard Pivot – do they remember a holy anger of Antonine Maillet: she reproached us for letting us be invaded by English while there, in Canada, she fought with others to preserve Molière's language! A height!
« Our French language, with its diversity and promise of living together, makes our distinction and our wealth. That's the accent of Montreal.« .
Rabbit grass
Summer, early in the morning, I was also going with my grandmother to pick up grass for rabbits!
I often accompanied my mother « make grass » For rabbits. She took advantage of it to pick up the wild salad, coustline, rampuchou to accompany the « rotate » (grives) that Pepe had killed « Garlic ».
[agachon → hunting stationt]

My grandfather was growing a alfalfa square for his rabbits. I had no right to use the fake or sickle to pick it up when I wanted to help, so I went earlier than he did because I loved those tools.
(Yes, I got caught and yelled cleanly!)
In the end, he gave up raising...
