In the morning, Xavier-Adrien Laurent meets me to work on the show Intimate Provence. XaL plays his last performance of the play that day Republican Duel, written by André Neyton. Thanks to the Internet, my ticket is booked to make sure you have a seat.

After a rainy brunch, we take the direction of the theatre. And then we enter the universe of André Neyton. The author and director is present, surrounded by his wife, daughter and son, who provides the technical direction of the show. A warm and family atmosphere reigns behind the scenes.

The play is played with intensity, carried by a strong text and a captivating duo of actors. Then, once the curtain has fallen, we extend this memorable day on a small square to celebrate the moment. What a privilege to be immersed in the team in the afternoon! And not just any afternoon: it was the last performance of Republican Duel at the Avignon 2024 Festival, marking the end of a beautiful theatrical adventure.

A great honour to have been able to attend this unique moment. André Neyton leaves us, but he is still on the stage, surrounded by the public, his relatives and his actors...
