Exhibition "In the footsteps of the shepherds of Provence" with photos of André Abbe
Tourism and Media Centre
1, course Theodore Bouge 83690 Salernes, Provence, France
14 September 2024 to 26 January 2025
Why are these photos different? Because André Abbe has two caps: that of the journalist (France TV, Radio France, print press...) and that of peasant.
Because André began his career as his ancestors as a winemaker.
So when André meets other farmers, the bonds are strong. André Abbe speaks very well the Provençal. It is also an asset to facilitate meetings.
The result? Behind each of these photos, there's a real story. These are heritage photos as Geneviève Bresc, director of sculptures at the Louvre Museum, now retired, explains.
This exhibition is organized by Dracénie Provence Verdon in partnership with the Abbe Photo Association.

Who is André Abbe
Biography of photographer and journalist
Daniel Bizien tells the story of his friend, photographer and journalist André Abbe.
But where does this almost limitless intellectual curiosity of André Abbe come from? Perhaps because he was born in Roquebrune/Argens during the Disembarkation in Provence in August 1944.
