Numbers to call

François : +33 664 95 55 83

Marie-Thé, great person who takes care of the house when we’re away: Marie +33 666 69 53 31

House address and GPS coordinates

The address is: 2 rue de l’église 83520 Roquebrune sur Argens, France

GPS: 43.44327° N, 6.63721° E

The house is in the middle of the ancient part of the village. It is a pedestrian area. There are few car parking spaces that get free during the weekdays when people go to work. Personally, the walk from the Parking Castrum through the old village is a delight!

When you first arrive in Roquebrune

When you first get to Roquebrune sur Argens, stop the car:

Place Perrin, 83520 Roquebrune sur Argens

➡️ « Abandon » your car for a few minutes by the gate close to the Bar de Roquebrune: https://goo.gl/maps/ZEj2Sv8bD7EihTAXA)

then walk to the house to pick up the BLACK remote that opens the gate (should on the table or on the tiny table underneath the lamp on the right when you go in).

To open the gate, ensure your car is very close to the gate (there is a sensor).

Drop-off your luggage then park the car.

Where to park your car in Roquebrune sur Argens

Parking Boulevard Jean Jaurès : https://goo.gl/maps/sokQ8qs18GpLZAVn6

Parking Castrum : https://goo.gl/maps/VVCwQim2YkkLHNFA7

Both car parks have electric car charging stations.

Both are nice short walks through the village.

Then chill out!

One alternative in July and August: parking outside the village (close to Saint Roch Chapel) then using the shuttle that takes you to Place Perrin (2-minute walk to the house, no stairs). Frankly, one shuttle every 30 minutes is tricky. Please tell me how it goes…

Enjoy your stay in Roquebrune sur Argens, à bientôt, François

Electricity and hot water

No electricity?

The big green button must be pressed.

Still no electricity?

The electricity meter needs resetting. Exit the house, turn right and right again. The meter is behind the door on the right of the neighbor’s stairs. Press the button to reset the meter.

Hot water

On the Hager box (see picture above), the most right switch has 3 positions:

  • Top: on all the time (convenient but not so good for the electricity bill and the planet)
  • Middle: on every night, that’s the setting you should use
  • Bottom: off

At the end of your stay

Bed sheets

Please take off the sheets (duvet cover and fitted sheet) used and put them in special bags.

For convenience (weight especially), please use several bags and one bag for the towels and mat in the bathroom…

Leaving the house

Please contact Marie to arrange a departure time.

The house

Kitchen

Feel free to use what’s in the kitchen cupboards and fridge. Simply replace them when used.

• Dishwasher: the dishwasher is below the oven; washing liquid is under the kitchen sink, you don’t need to use much. If needed, refill the salt and rinsing liquid; please use the 30-minute program (turn on with the big square botton on the right, then press the selection program 4 times until the light shows “30′”)

• Bins: at this stage, bins are at the entrance on the left. The standard bin uses bin bags. Recycling bin is just a bag. Please take them to the larger bins behind the Post Office

• Microwave oven : the instructions in French are above the oven; the English instructions are available on the web (please comment if you find them).

• Freezer: if off, simply turn it on

• Coffee machine Dolce Gusto: switch it on, wait for the green light to come on, put a Dolce Gusto Nescafé compatible capsure and start it by moving the lever to the RED. Always leave a mug under the pourer as the capsules drip! Before disposing the capsule, put them in the sink for example. This system is stupid but nothing we can do!

If you want to be extra cool 😏

Please use mineral water in the coffee machine. with a low mineral figure, it helps to keep the coffee machine starch-free. There should be one or two bottles left in the kitchen utility room…

There are 2 other coffee machines, one in the utility room (filter coffee) and one in the laundry room (first floor). Once you’ve used them, please place them back where you found them.

As of today, we never found the trick to get the coffee machine in the laundry room to work. If you find the trick, then we will love you forever… 😍

Living room and downstairs bedroom

• Dishes, glasses, cups, mugs… : in the wooden cupboard (a few essentials stay in the kitchen in the cupboard high up by the window)

• TV: the TV is in the ground-floor bedroom next to the dining room; if you want to move the TV, go ahead. Just put it back where it was before you leave the house. The TV is not connected to an aerial. But you can connect it to a computer via HMDI (VGA is also possible but there is no cable).

Bathroom

Behind the entrance door: hair dryer, bin, changing mats for babies, etc.

Below the sink: cleaning kit

If your shower is too long, you’ll see water dripping along the glass wall onto the floor. Simply use a sponge to keep it dry.

To ease cleaning, there is a glass wiper to keep glass dry after your shower.

Security

Fire

Fire blanket: ground floor – in the kitchen utility room

Fire instinguishers – there are 2:

  • 1st floor: at the top of the stairs
  • 2nd floor: in the middle, close to the central pilar

First aid kit

First floor, bathroom, behind the door

Emergencies

Dial 112 on the phone

Closest Emergency is Hôpital Intercommunal Bonnet – 240 Avenue Saint-Lambert
83600 FREJUS

Locking up the house: 4 things to check when you leave the house

  1. Ground floor = Front door: always lock the door when you’re inside
  2. Ground floor = Kitchen window: keep it closed
  3. First floor = Bathroom: always lock the window when you leave the house
  4. Second floor = The sky windows do not close automatically!! Do not forget to close them when you leave!

Valuables

For security reasons, everything in the house is replaceable. All pictures and paintings are copies. So the only important thing to do is to hide your valuables somewhere in the house when you are away just in case: passport or ID card, money, etc.

Utility

Laundry and vacuum cleaners

The laundry room is in the bathroom.

Washing machine: please use anti-starch Calgon tablets along with the washing powder; leave the door open when unused

Dryer: please empty the water tank and clean-up the filter (open the door, it is at the bottom) after every drying please 😊

Vacuum cleaner – There are 2 vacuum cleaners:

  • Ground floor: in living room, in the cupboard beside the entrance door ; please empty the dirt tank after each use
  • First floor: in the “lab” room (dressing room); empty bags are in the kitchen utility room; if there is one or two bags left, please tell us so that we can replace them

Bed sheets, pillows, blankets, towels

So proud to welcome you in Linvosges bedsheets. My Mum was born in the Vosges, so it is an attention to her.

All were new in 2021 when the house was reopened. A professional cleaning service is taking care of them.

If you need more, they are all stored in the bathroom utility room. Please tell us, so that we can anticipate and ensure we have enough for the next visitors.

If you want to be super cool 😎: please TELL US AS SOON AS YOU SEE A SPOT OR DIRT ON SHEETS OR TOWERS. PLEASE KEEP ALL SHEETS, PILLOWS, BLANKETS AND TOWELS INSIDE THE HOUSE FOR HYGIENE REASONS. If you need towels for the beach, the river, the lake, the closest place to buy towels is Intermarché (reduced selection) or Carrefour.
