Four international artists for a unique performance: "Intimate Provence" takes place Friday, August 23, 2024
4 international artists participate in the show "Intimate Provence". Musician, actor, singer, dancer... Let's meet these stars who arrive from Dubai, London, Marseille and Montpellier. And for starters, we remind you why Abbe Photo set up the event.
Event « Provence Intimate » of 23 August 2024 is organized by Abbe Photo Association. It is addressed to those passionate about photography and stories of Provence. This unique event (one public representation!) is dedicated to the preservation and celebration of the work of André Abbe. These are the best photographs among more than 100,000 photos that capture 55 years of history and daily life in Provence and travels around the world.
Our objective is to raise awareness of the importance of preserving Provence's photographic and cultural heritage. It also aims to encourage the participation of patrons in supporting future projects to archive and restore these precious photographs. The event will serve as a platform for exchanging ideas and promoting appreciation of traditions and the art of Provençal living.
Our association is also looking for exhibition venues abroad (including Germany, the United States, Great Britain and Japan).
This event promises to be a captivating immersion in the history and culture of Provence, offering participants a rare chance to discover new photographic works and meet the people behind this exciting project.

Nazpari Azari: entrepreneur artist
Nazpari Azari, alias Nanaz, is a multi-faceted artist who excels in both music and entrepreneurship. Born in Iran and studying in Rome and Lausanne, she combines her musical talents with a career as a chef in hospitality. Founder of TAPENAZ, an innovative tapenade brand, she has been able to combine the flavours of the Orient with a unique culinary know-how. In parallel, Nazpari continues to sing, including the works of Edith Piaf, bringing a touch of elegance and emotion to each performance. Its versatility and dynamism add an additional dimension to our event.
François Abbe discovers the incredible performance of Nanaz in... Amsterdam! He decided to contact her, told her about André Abbe who started his photo career in Iran in 1969 thanks to UNESCO. Nanaz agreed to come from Dubai to volunteer and support our community project!
Flavio de Brito: Latin dance in pure form
Flavio de Brito, Brazilian choreographer and dancer, has carried his passion and talent for dance around the world, from Curitiba to the UK. Specializing in Argentine tango and Latin American dances, Flavio has seduced the public with its original choreography and enchanting performances.
Whether for dance courses, festivals or prestigious shows, he can captivate and move with his graceful movements and his scenic presence. Flavio is also a dedicated teacher, sharing his knowledge with enthusiasm and generosity. His participation promises to bring a touch of grace and dynamism to our event.
François Abbe met Flavio when he lived in Portsmouth, south of England. He immediately thought of Flavio and his dancers for the show "Intimate Provence". They come to dance voluntarily at the event to support the association!
Emmanuel Collombert: the virtuoso trumpet
Emmanuel Collombert is an exceptional trumpeter, trained by the greatest and winner of many international competitions. Having collaborated with prestigious orchestras such as the Orchestre National de France and the Orchestre de Paris, Emmanuel is known for his virtuosity and technical mastery. In addition to his impressive performances, he is a talented composer and arranger, as well as a respected professor at the Conservatoire de Montpellier. His passion for music is reflected in every note he plays, and his presence at our event is a boon for all the music lovers present.
Emmanuel also has a photographer in his family: Pierre Collombert, a colleague whom André Abbe considers the best French photographer in the rural world.
Emmanuel Collombert played several trumpet solos at a small committee event. This greatly moved François Abbe who proposed to Manu (Emmanuel) to participate in the artistic creation "Intimate Provence". Manu comes to play volunteer at the event in support of the association.
Xavier-Adrien Laurent: The theater in the blood
Originally from Marseille, Xavier-Adrien Laurent, also known as XaL, is a real touch-to-all in the world of entertainment. Comedian, author, director and designer of cultural events, he marked with his imprint the theatrical scene with works ranging from Shakespeare to Pagnol. Her solo shows, such as « Textually transmissible » and « Xavon de Marseille »were acclaimed by the public.
XaL is not only a talented actor, but also an innovator, creating theatre projects. « Off-frame » who surprise and delight. His commitment to promoting local arts and artists makes him an essential pillar of our event. XaL played a play by André Neyton at the Avignon 2024 Festival. André Abbe is president of the Occitan Dramatic Centre, led by André Neyton. It is in this context that André thought of XaL to stage the show "Intimate Provence".
