The Yellow Cruise
On April 4, 1931, the famous Yellow Cruise of André Citroën began... the material had been tested in Meyruies on the Causse Méjean...
« In 2011, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Yellow Cruise, the Citroën Clubs organized an event at the Aven Armand under the auspices of the Giraud brothers, managers of the Citroën garage in Meyrueis and the grandsons of Mr. To commemorate the exploits of the Citroën teams who had dismantled the autochenilles to pass the Himalayas passes on the back of a mule, a 2CV was dismantled in front of the Speleo Station to have descended on the back of man by the tunnel and reassembled at the bottom of the cavity in the middle of the forest of stalagmites ».

Traditions...
[...] I propose to share with the members of this group so endearing and this throughout this Palm week, each of the episodes of this series that I have entitled « Corso Fleuri–Mi-Care », to evoke one of the most typical and most striking traditions, which was one of the highlights of the life of our village, then of our commune ...
[…] We also find, as I pointed out in my comments, these ancestral decoration techniques characteristic of the Roquebruno tanks, perpetuated from generation to generation by all these passionate volunteers:
– the heather remarkably and regularly placed on the various sides of the tank,
– flowers to highlight the edges, or make patterns, whether in crepon paper (made during vigils) or freshly cut like carnations or worries,
– the ivy, patiently sewn leaf to leaf on jute cloth bags, before the staplers take over,
– the box, braided to realize the edges ...
But also, as we will see later, this heather flower, sieved and then glued to the subjects ... Not to mention, the originality, quality and details of the costumes of those who walked on the tanks ... This costumemaking work was also part of these shared evenings, each team in the greatest secret put a point of honour to create costumes adapted to the topic or theme chosen ...

1944... in the Braise near Digne.
Charged with the attack of a gas depot in Gaubert, a detachment of FTP (Francs-Tireurs and Partisans) of the Maquis « Faita » , arriving from Lambruisse, settles in the hamlet of Braisse [or Braisse] on the night of April 4 to 5, 1944.
On the morning of the 5th, two guerrillas, Quirillo March and Vittorio Lazaro – who had gone to Mezel to recover food – were arrested by the Germans. Tortured, interrogated, they reveal the presence of their comrades in the Braise. Since then, these two unfortunate people have disappeared.
The afternoon of 5 April at around 5 p.m., a group of 8e Brandenburg Company, German soldiers and the head of the Digne Sipo-SD (about 80 men) surrounded the guerrillas. A furious fight, obviously unbalanced, engages and will last almost three quarter of an hour.
Eight guerrillas managed to escape, but ten were killed. Six are captured, interrogated, tortured before being deported to Germany... few will return alive.
Pascal Puddu, André Bertolucci, Eugène Blanchard, Pierre Capus, Marius Lieutaud, René Marchand, Albin Roux, Roger Aharonian and Valentin Romana were among the guerrillas killed in the case, only eight of whom were identified. Although every precaution was taken by the occupant to keep the funerals of the victims of the Braisse at the Bourg Cemetery secret, a part of the population was unknown on Gassendi Boulevard during the evening of 7 April in order to pay them a final tribute, discovering the passage of the vehicle containing the ten coffins.
On the edge of RN 85, under the hamlet of La Braisse, a first monument was inaugurated a year after the events, on April 5, 1945. It was a simple wooden panel, with the following inscription: Remember! This is the place where on April 5, 1944, 10 guerrillas, loosely murdered by a ruthless enemy, died so that you could live free and better, dans A more beautiful country.

Walking in Brillanne, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence
La Brillanne is a municipality in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, located about 350 metres above sea level, along the RN 96 and close to the A51 motorway, about 3 km from Oraison, 5 km from Villeneuve and 6 km from Lurs. The village offers a beautiful view of the Durance valley. La Brillanne is also known for its tulip fields, which illuminate the landscape every year in early spring.
A magnificent multicolor show that attracts many walkers. A festival of colours that also extends to the nearby town of Lurs. A crop for bulb production in the Netherlands. "Forward Fanfan the Tulip, forward Fanfan forward!"

Railways in Provence
Did you travel in this type of machine?
When the pilot cabin is in the back or in the height, when it is just in front of the rails, as if we were the driver-viewer of the trip... it's beautiful! We swallow the landscape and its tracks...
I keep an excellent memory of a little trip from Bedarieux to Ceilhes, a trip I had offered to an 8-year-old boy on his birthday. The travel expenses, had been taken into account by the SNCF, visit of the carhostage, put in command. It was Kevin Albiol.

The bell of Herepian
In 1985, the municipality of Georges Frêche decided to offer a bell at Notre-Dame-de-Tables Basilica to celebrate the city's millennium. This bell, still in place in the bell tower today, weighs about a ton and bears the name of Emmanuelle-Julie-Isabelle.
It was melted by the Granier foundry in Hérepican and blessed on 27 April 1986 during a ceremony presided over by Monsignor Boffet. It sounds for the Angelus three times a day and for Mass on Saturday night.

Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres in the Gard
... small village of the Gard (30) with its 3000 souls, proud of its stones and buildings with the past lost between the pages of history, organizes for some years a day of medieval character. The principle is simple: a family friendly village party.
In the shadow of the village's centenary towers and under the eye of the St. Lawrence, the public has free access to games for all, meetings and discoveries with knights and saltimbanks who will share their knowledge. Every year, Saint-Laurent returns to relive this day with the inhabitants of the village: through the voice of his herald, he shares a history of multiple mysteries that can be solved with the help of the public participating freely in games, questions, challenges, treasure hunt, which will allow them in the end .... But this is the end of the story. Then come write with us!
