SEPTEMBER 17 AND 18 2022 FOR THE EXPOSURE "FEMALES OF PROVENCE"

For the European Heritage Days 2022, dedicated to Sustainable Heritage, the Abbe Photo Association organises guided tours around the theme: Women of Provence. The walls of the old Abbe house (16th century) will be decorated with ancient and unique photos from the archives of the former photographer and journalist André Abbe.

For his second participation in European Heritage Days, the Abbe Photo Association offers a guided tour of the Abbe House on 17 and 18 September 2022. The house will be exceptionally open during these two days (only) in the year.

This year, the association chose to honour the Women of Provence. 63 photos taken from 1970 to 2000. In our previous exhibition devoted to Roquebrune of the time, the Roquebrunes were little present. We redress this injustice by devoting an entire edition to them. These women farmers, seamstresses, breeders, activists... made history of Provence.

The guided tour will end in the gallery of Oubradou of the snooping where paintings by Patricia Gourier are exhibited. Souvenirs of Provence will also be offered
for sale. The funds raised will be donated to the Passadoc and Abbe Photo associations.

On Saturday 17 September, at 6 p.m., the General Assembly of the Passadoc Association will take place.

SOME MOTS OF OUR ARTIST-PEINTER OF THE UBRADOU OF THE FUCK

Why this passion for painting...
On these Heritage Days, I simply want to share and express to you the emotion of some of my paintings. I paint like it comes with brushes, knives, sponges, rags, fingers...I mix, brush, wipe and most importantly, I don't look like anyone. I am Me!

Painting is a refreshing experience, a freedom! « I still feel the need to go back to painting. It frees me. » But painting with talent, is not given to everyone, a gift that is cultivated or not. Only emotion and perseverance fuel this pleasure of painting. I don't come from an artistic milieu. I didn't do any academy! My favourite subjects have always been on the beauty of outside life.

Drawing, painting, charcoal, oil, are techniques that I tested very early for the pleasure of experimentation.... My choice stopped on acrylic... but I never say « Never »....
Some subjects are nevertheless recurrent: the woman (often from the back to leave everyone the choice to interpret). The sunset, the sea, the chapels of Roquebrune-sur-Argens, scenes of life of Provence or some paintings speak more than others...
These paintings reveal nice links with people in the village and it fills me with happiness. These paintings also travel... thanks to tourism it makes me happy.

Finally, thank you Ericka for talking about my painting. Thank you both André and François for giving me access to this passion. Thanks to you visitors on these Heritage Days to make live my passion and that of our Associations Passadoc and Abbe Photo by giving us your comments through a book. And if you feel a crush! Do not hesitate to ask me! All these paintings are in
Sell...

A big thank you... See you soon.

It was a beautiful discovery! Even for the Roquebruno, this visit allowed to discover the heritage of our beautiful village, stories, anecdotes and beautiful photos of times. A beautiful and informative organization!! I loved it very much!! Thank you!

Yannick

A magnificent initiative to renew... The history of Roquebrune, the memories of everyone. Each. Shared individually and collectively... a wealth... memory... As part of a Provencal house. "Yours"... mixed with culture in knowledge... a common story, the love of this village and the soul of the missing... An immense emotion for me...

Sabine A.
